1) Try downgrading the other buildings. Supposedly you get a portion of the Resources back. See if that gives you back enough resources to get the iron mine going. Should take less than an hour to see if that works.

If not (or at the same time),

2) Hire your hero in the castle and send him over to:
Breebray ... noCommander ... @ (29) 72 | 40 and loot the storehouse
You may need to do that several times.
Your hero doesn't carry much but it might be enough to get the Iron Mine started. May take several hours of looting to gather enough.

3) request to be my vassal (no requirements) and I will deliver a load of resources to your city (more than 9 hours to accomplish).

if u need iron and u have not built very much start on a new sever then u should get
