Maybe something like weather can be implemented into the game. It could make this game a bit more interesting. For instance, wind blowing in a certain direction can effect the distance of arrows. Fog can limit your visibility, lightning can kill a few hundred of your soldiers etc. Weather could also effect building times and troops movement speed. (Chances of all this happening if implemented will be extremely rare)

If it's rare why bother making the complex codes to make it work?

You know, I was about to say that until I got distracted and forgot to reply to this post...

Hold rare, bring in weather
Except we're gonna need the weather reporting line so we're in the swim and nobody says, Look, Ma, I just got thrashed to bits because I didn't know it's windy and used my archers! (:s2:)

Dont shoot into the wind(:s8:) like rain/snow would lower troops morale and speed. I like this idea:)

feildmaster there would always be "weather", but i mean that the "bad" or extremely good stuff should be rare. For example, cloudy or sunny (sunny weather might be able to make the waterbottle artifact much more useful) might be normal, but extreme thunderstorms, no wind, etc.

If you really want this idea to fly you need to get into more detail:

An operational weather gage is a good idea. It should be displayed at the top of tacics screen/city page/valley view.

However, this should only be put into either a new server or only specific servers. You shouldn't have to put up with weather if you didn't want to.

And lighting strikes killing hundreds of troops? Let's not insult the game. It would be funny if randomly one swordsmen got killed by lighting, but this should be very rare and just for gags. Let's be realistic weather would effect primarily the logistics of battle, and not really be the death dealer.

Such as:
rain: causes delay of traveling armies
sunny: regular conditions no effect
N,S,E,W wind: causes slight delay in travel if going that direction. Causes decrease in range weapons (obviously for decrease in missile accuracy)

others:
monsoon: several days of serious increase in travel time due to rain and floods.
floods: kill a handful of troops not many mostly a nuisance and delays travel time
storms: decrease travel time
fog: decrease sight by 1 in tactics view
lighting: randomly kills 1 or 2 individual troops

crazy bad ideas that the devs will love:
drought: causes farms to drop in efficiency by losing 1 level each for every day of drought. armies will die in accordance from this by hunger.
volcano eruption: causes many buildings to be destroyed at once possible destruction of entire town.

Also, you could work out some sort of system where weather only effected certain regions at a time, and those regions could be identifiable by the valley map. So, if you see your enemy is in some drought or something: Might be a good time to come a knock'n.

^^^^^ These are not real suggestions. I am just giving examples of the sort of detail people would need to really get on board with this.

An operational weather gage

if you have silver subscirption (:s8:)

That would suck Artemis, players would have to go into battle not knowing if it was storming... xD

lol, i was joking about the subscription part :P.
i think there should be a thing on the side like the subscription ads that tells you the weather. People with silver subscriptions could be able to "predict" what the future weather might be like, and what the future weather will be like with gold subscription.

Yeah, having to pay to have one of your soldiers to look up to see how things were doing up there. That would really suck. Maybe the weather gauge for the current day would be free, but to see the weather tomorrow would be silver, and the weather for the next few days would be gold.

As the Beatles said...
If you drive a car; I'll the street.
If you try to sit; I'll tax your seat.
If you get to cold; I'll tax the heat.
If you take a walk; I'll tax your feet.

Problem with that Swordsman would be the safest ones on the battlefield lol because their wrapped in Metal armor and Electricity travels the course of least resistance their for the ones most likely to die would be thoughs with small amounts of metal on them because the metal isn't grounded.

There is a flaw in your theory. Swordsmen touch the metal directly, they WILL get the electricity coursing through them.
Urathear
в: 23 Jan 2011 [09:43]
lol no they wouldn't 2 they also wore padding underneath their armor as well besides it has been proven with both Chain mail and plate armor electricity will travel through metal armor rather than touching the human body with the addition of padding to absorb most of the immense heat commenting from the electricity as far as destroying or messing with effectiveness of their weapons and armor that is a whole other story the heat would degrade the ability to be fought with either due to melting or weakening their overall structure.
