A few days after I started playing I noticed this player named MMM had the top spot everyday in the Best of Best on the Beta server. So. I poked around and saw that he had a lot of vassals.
I knew what that ultimately meant so I created a city on Grail...Same scenario. Same guy, same profile. YIKES!!! After reading the http://www.1100ad.com/wiki/Guide where it said: Politics – Vassals Vassals are players that pay taxes to a stronger player in return for their protection You do not want to be a vassal; you should only become somebody’s vassal if you are in deep trouble. I began to ponder what it would take to defend oneself from the VASSAL WAR MACHINE that I saw in MMM and Associates. My conclusion was to form a Massive Alliance. So I started a city on the Livonian server and began to do this. I now have more than 215 ALLIES!!! and growing everyday. If you care to take the MASSIVE ALLIANCE defense position instead of wondering when one of the VASSAL WAR MACHINES are going to gobble you up also and make you one of their pawns, feel free to ask me to be an ALLY. The only thing I ask is that if you join our MA you only become a vassal or have vassals to enhance game play and not to create another Ghengis Kahn type VASSAL WAR MACHINE. Afterall, the Vassal Lord relationship can add another dimension to the game and make it a bit more enjoyable. But, come on, 54+ Vassals!!! That's a Ghengis Kahn type war machine. Thanks Pete |

Rank is over-rated...To me its an irrelavent measurement. How about # of Vassals/Allies/Non-Aggr ....? How deep do the Allies go? How connected/disconnected are those alliances? etc. As I said before, war is about strategy and alliances (and formations for a few) and how well you manage them. but keep telling me how great things are on that server and your going to entice me to drop by . |

Granted...however...
Rank is important if your rank puts you so far ahead of the rest of the pack they have no hope of providing an adeqaute defense against you or could never attack you and EVER EVER hope to win... In this game Rank # 1 is just a short distance ahead of a huge crowd of players almost on an equal footing so.... Rank is over-rated in our context. Therefore, the guy (rank #1 or rank #999) who has the biggest, tightest, most responsive Alliances and can bring all that power to bear against and opponent will prevail.... Ponder that and then tell me I am still full-o'-sh*t... If you continue to think of this game as a one-on-one scenario then rank is important to you and you can cling to it but I recall that there is this "send aid" ability and if you have a fantastic Alliance, they will send aid (ARMIES!!! Hooray!!!). If you have a slow and non-responsive alliance....well...You know what will happen... I'd rather have 100 tightly Allied neighbors of below Rank #999 who will come to my aid in a few hours than to be ranked between #1...#99 How about you? Now, what concerns me is the strong alliance of a few of the Ranked #1 to #99 who have a great alliance...in the end, they may be so formidable that no matter how great your Massive Alliance is they will always win. So, Yes! Rank can be important in this situation. Does that help capture what I was after by making that earlier statement? Hey! I hate writting all of this background stuff cuz some players/forum posters are getting annoyed that I can and do provide significant content. Cheers |

OK! Here goes!!!
The MMM VWM in action: MMM's Enemy list on Sunday 08 Nov 2009 Dario LODE2 Maco burzujs karlis85 mishonok persijs zagis Dario's Enemy list on Sunday 08 Nov 2009 5k1n Aleksa15 ArmaniG BADNAME BubuliS Busis DJ Shusax Dan1604 Elephant Emidrol FromLV Ironmask KBa3uK Karlsons Krizis Lumara MMM Maxas MrPain Peluxxx PilotTim Sil Skorpikofka Susliks121 Tehniskais Tetris WhiteKong White_Niger Yonuka alberts123 apelsins artis minconokos b3nny bed boy brama budzis cinitajs davex doooh dragon_D elmars123 ernis13 fack off futbolists gizmars89 guncha123 haralds53 ieva ieva immune2life induliss ivyszzz kakitis123 kikeris29 lemberg lisiks madeye makleods mann matiszz miley monad nekit007 neto1024 ojars omarz88 psihopats rage19 raivis704 rat killer rose dragon selis showTEK smirnoff the kid youtube Dario's Enemies are MMM and his 70 Vassals. If you give in and become his Vassal you join this Ghengis Kahn Vassal War Machine. Whoever MMM declares war against you are automagically at war against. Ironically, Dario has non-agression pacts with: Drackofka Ikar10 cotopaxie mystica Drackofka is an Ally of Dara. Dara and MMM are Allies. Odd? Eh? mystica is an Ally of Wivia. Wivia is an Ally of Drackofka, LONDON, Skorpikofka, and a whole bunch of players who have direct and indirect in-game ally associations with the VWM (MMM)! By the way, Drackofka, LONDON, Skorpikofka are allies with many of MMM's Vassals. Ironnic, NO? ====== Now, khzr tell me that rank or points are important! I say, and have provided proof here that, Strategic alliances (vassalship is an alliance) are THE MOST important aspects of a MMPOWG. Care to reconsider your statement Oh by the way, its not most allies but instead most responsive allies. |

ofcourse responsive allies are very important... but points are important as well see... without any points you can;t (really) play the game and without allies you can play the game stop worrieng about MMM so much.... worry about your own, to grow, have good vassals.... iam still saying to the end it comes to points... points say how well you do on your own... allies say how friendly you are. |
